Portrait of Claudia Losi, ph. Serge Domingie

Claudia Losi

Claudia Losi (Piacenza, 1971) lives and works in Piacenza.
Her artistic practice stems from the observation of the landscape—both natural and man-made—in which humans live and interact with the rest of the living world. Having always been interested in the natural and human sciences, as well as the body’s movement in space, she also explores, through these lenses, the deep connections between collective narrative and the imagination. She creates multidisciplinary projects that often unfold over extended periods of time, fostering various forms of collaboration—through walking, manual labor, and choral singing—while building networks and weaving stories. She works with diverse media, including site-specific installations and performances, sculpture, photography, video, and works in textiles and on paper. She has exhibited on numerous occasions in Italy and abroad.

The project Being There. Beyond the Garden is among the winners of the Italian Council (9th Edition, 2020) and the MIC; in 2022, the publication of the same name will be released by Viaindustriae, Foligno, along with Among the Infinite Possible Combinations, Gli Ori, Pistoia. In 2021, she published The Whale Theory. An Animal Imaginary with Johan&Levi and Voce a vento with Kunstverein Milano. Finally, she launched the “di pari passo” book series with Amuleti, in collaboration with Elisa Biagini (Elpis Foundation, 2026).

Among his numerous exhibitions and permanent installations in Italy and abroad, the most recent include: Stadtpark Galerie (Krems an der Donau, Austria), Galleria Monica De Cardenas (Milan), Palazzo Ducale (Genoa), La Strozzina (Florence), Palazzo Te (Mantua), Museo della Montagna (Turin), Arte in fabbrica, Gori Tessuti (Calenzano-Florence), MAMbo (Bologna), Collezione Maramotti (Reggio Emilia); MAXXI (Rome), Ikon Gallery (Birmingham, UK), Royal Academy (London), and the 8th Sharjah Biennial (UAE), Stenersen Museum (Oslo, Norway); Second Hangzhou Triennial of Fiber Art (Hangzhou, China).
