Palazzo Reale – Incontro speciale con Aurelio Amendola e firmacopie del volume

On Thursday, September 3rd, at 7.00PM, there will be a special event with Aurelio Amendola featuring a guided tour of the exhibition, followed by a book signing for the volume published by Skira.

At Palazzo Reale in Milan, the exhibition Aurelio Amendola. Capolavori fotografati. Burri, Vedova, Nitsch, Duomo di Milano, Bernini, Canova, Michelangelo, promoted by the City of Milan—Culture and produced by Palazzo Reale in collaboration with Associazione Culturale BUILDING, continues throughout the summer until September 6th.

The exhibition, with free entry, will be open throughout the summer during Palazzo Reale’s regular hours, including August 15th.

Thirty years after his solo exhibition Cappelle Medicee (1995), Aurelio Amendola (Pistoia, 1938), a central figure in contemporary art photography, returns to the galleries of Palazzo Reale with an exhibition that brings together 85 large-format photographs, taken between 1976 and 2025, and traces the most emblematic aspects of his artistic exploration—one that spans art history and transforms light into narrative through a sensitive and intense gaze.

The exhibition is accompanied by the monograph Aurelio Amendola. Burri, Vedova, Nitsch, Duomo Milano, Bernini, Canova, Michelangelo, published by Skira and available in bookstores starting in September. The volume brings together a wide selection of the photographs on display at Palazzo Reale, along with critical essays by Gianluigi Colin, Vincenzo Trione, Maurizio Calvesi, Marco Meneguzzo, Walter Guadagnini, Bruno Corà, Silvio Ceccato, Giuseppe Frangi, Tomaso Montanari, Sergej Androsov, Antonio Natali, Antonio Scurati, and Antonio Paolucci.

On the occasion of the book’s release, on Thursday, September 3rd, at 7.00PM, Aurelio Amendola will guide the public on a tour of the exhibition, followed by a book signing for those who purchase the book at the Palazzo Reale bookshop. This event marks the final opportunity to meet the photographer before the exhibition closes on Sunday, September 6th, 2026.
