Elisabetta Catalano. Portraits and Performances

16.11.2018 – 21.11.2018

BUILDING presents a selection of artists’ portraits that Elisabetta Catalano has been making since the mid-1960s. Her photographs, apart from the specific iconic value of the images, provide a precious testimony of the art world and of its different protagonists during those years. In these photographs, the artists are caught in the moment of creation or together with the completed artwork. In all these cases, their work is always present and perceivable. The photographs of performances, in particular, witness the relationship of collaboration that Elisabetta Catalano was able to generate with the artists, helping the creation of iconic and definitive images of such unrepeatable experiences.

Without Elisabetta’s precious testimony, today, we would not have any memory of these moments.
