Painting beyond Conceptualism

On the occasion of the exhibition On the Wall (January 20th – March 19th, 2022), BUILDING hosts a talk in the presence of the artists Paola Angelini, Nicola Samorì, Ruprecht von Kaufmann, and exhibition curator Demetrio Paparoni.

The conversation between the three artists and the critic will unfold about the theme “Painting beyond Conceptualism”: starting from a reflection about the concept of the exhibition, the talk will be an occasion to discuss about the relevance of painting in the contemporary.

Starting from the three artists’ conception of the painting medium, the dialogue will evolve around why we have needed painting since the dawn of humanity, and why, beyond conceptualism, we will always need it.
